This Week in Turkey‘s guest was Louis Fishman. Louis Fishman is an assistant professor at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. He is also the author of “Jews and Palestinians in the Late Ottoman Era, 1908-1914”.
Mr. Fishman is a regular contributor to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, where he writes on Turkish, Israeli and Palestinian affairs. He divides his time between New York, Istanbul and Tel Aviv. He joined This Week in Turkey from New York, the epicenter of the pandemic in the United States.
Mr. Fishman assessed the management of the pandemic both in the United States and in Turkey. He provided a comparison between President Erdoğan and President Trump’s approach to the pandemic, and their confrontational approaches with local authorities.
