ELIAMEP and Medyascope join forces

Medyascope and Athens-based Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy’s (ELIAMEP) Turkish bureau has decided to start a joint series of webinars. The cooperation aims to enhance attractive pluralist dialogue on Turkey’s internal and external matters.

Presented by Center for Applied Turkey Studies (CATS*), supported by Mercator Foundation and Federal Foreign Ministry, the project ELIMED will consist of 75-mins-long webinars with a round-table discussion format.

Webinars, that’ll be prepared in cooperation with Medyascope, aims to promote facultative and solution-oriented discussion in seven important fields.

Webinars, which will cover a wide range of topics from Turkish internal & external policies to freedom of press, Turkey’s gender inequality  and the country’s developing policies towards Asia and Eurasia, are planned to continue until the end of 2022.

Webinars and their final declaritons will be posted on websites of both Medyascope and ELIAD. They will be live on English, with a Turkish summary following.

First topic: Turkey’s Pivot to Eurasia-Asia as an Alternative to the West

The topic of the first webinar, which will be streamed live on Medyascope’s YouTube channel tomorrow at 5 p.m. (Turkish time zone), is Turkey facing towards Asia and Eurasia in search of an alternative to the West. To be moderated by Dr. Ioannis N. Grigoriadis, the guests of the webinar will be:

  • Dr. Habibe Özdal, Lecturer of International Relations, Istanbul Okan University
  • Prof. Dr. Şaban Kardaş, Lecturer of Politics and International Relations, TOBB University of Technology and Economics
  • Suat Kınıklıoğlu, Researcher, former member of Turkish Parliament
