Public law professor Levent Köker evaluates the Supreme Election Board’s (YSK) reasoning for annulling the March 31 mayoral vote in Istanbul. Köker concludes that the discrepancies and logical inconsistencies present in the 250-page document are legally unacceptable, and that they will have a significant impact on Turkey’s free and fair election process that has been in place since 1950.
