In the run-up to this Christmas, the climate in Europe’s streets is growing more heated. Starting with the yellow west movement in France, people in many countries across Europe have been taking to the streets lately. There were sporadic sightings of “yellow vests” in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. In Albania students were out to call for lower tuition fees; in Serbia people voiced their anger at state violence. And in Hungary people have been protesting for the last 10 days.
